The Google Pixel – The latest and greatest flagship phone from Google.

At OzMobiles, we’d prefer our customers know what they are getting for their money when purchasing a device from us.

As the Google Pixel is still fairly new to the smart phone market, we thought we would give it for a test drive and see how good it is.
We wanted to know how good this device is, specifically, how easy it is to use, all the main Tech Specs and what we think overall.

Available in ‘Very Silver’, ‘Really Blue’ and ‘Quite Black’ and available in a standard and XL sizing, the Google Pixel has very comfortable ergonomics mixed with a simple and clean design.

With powerful internals, one of our favourite things about the Google Pixel is the fast, smooth and intuitive software.

It lets you know when trains are delayed, what the weather is going   to be like and provides restaurant reviews as you arrive at them.

A standout feature for the device is the 'Google Assistant' feature.

People who are used to doing anything with their device hands free   will greatly appreciate this feature.
By a click of the home button or by voice, you can send messages, play the next song on Spotify or get directions to where you need to go.

It doesn’t stop there though, you can ask questions like “What is Bruno Mars’ latest album”? Once you get the answer, you can say “Play it on Spotify”. In examples like this, Google Assistant will understand a contextual pronoun which gives speech interaction on the device a more naturalised flow.

Another great feature on the Google Pixel is the Camera, Google claims that the Pixel XL has the highest DxOMark rating for any smartphone (with a score of 89). The camera works great in low light, offers Electronic stabilisation, can record slow-mo at 720p and can record video at 4k. On the flip side, it can be challenging in outdoor light and the Blur feature on the device can be a bit shoddy.

When it comes to the Cost of the Google Pixel, it isn’t quite as cheap as you may think, however, one look down the phone specs and you can see what you’re paying for.

The Google Pixel 32GB retails for approximately $1,079 and the Google Pixel XL 32GB starts at $1,269.
However, we have them at a much lower price.

Some other features that are worth noting are the Pixel Launcher, new revised notifications, an updated UI and the ability to always get the latest software updates from Google. See below for some Key Tech Specs;

In summary, if you are a lover of Google devices because of their software like ‘we’ are, then, we are sure the Google Pixel will be a good match for you!

If you have previously loved Samsung but have found that the software was bloated, then you will be pleasantly surprised with this device!

The Google pixel ticks all the hardware points that are important to us; The large sharp screen, the great camera, and the device provides the software experience that only a Google phone can provide.
In our opinion, it's one of the best Android devices you can buy.
